Purpose
GenzWorld welcomes credible information concerning wrongdoing, abuse of power, deception, safety failures, corruption, discrimination, privacy violations, environmental harm, institutional misconduct and other matters carrying genuine public importance. A whistleblower may be an employee, former employee, contractor, adviser, official, professional, researcher, customer, community member or other person with relevant knowledge.
A source is not required to prove an entire case before making initial contact. GenzWorld nevertheless verifies material claims independently before publication. Supplying information does not guarantee anonymity, payment or publication.
Matters That May Be Reported
Potential matters include corruption, fraud, misuse of public resources, concealed conflicts, deceptive commercial practice, serious safety failures, unlawful discrimination, abuse or harassment, privacy violations, surveillance, manipulation of records, scientific or technical misconduct, environmental harm, public-health risk, institutional cover-up, political interference, election misconduct, security failures, retaliation against employees, misleading public claims, exploitation of vulnerable people or another matter with significant public consequences.
A personal dispute may contain a public-interest issue. GenzWorld distinguishes the source’s private grievance from evidence of broader wrongdoing.
Initial Contact
Initial contact may be made through editorial@genzworld.org. The first message should contain only enough information to help GenzWorld assess the nature of the matter, how the source knows, whether evidence exists, who may be affected, whether immediate danger exists, what risk the source faces, the relevant jurisdiction, any important deadline and what communication method may be appropriate.
The first message should not include passwords, private keys, full databases, complete collections of identity documents, unrelated medical records, intimate material, malware, harmful exploit code, source-identifying archives, classified material or legally restricted material without prior discussion. Ordinary email is not guaranteed to provide complete confidentiality or end-to-end security.
No Automatic Confidential Relationship
Sending a message does not automatically create attorney-client privilege, employment protection, immunity, source confidentiality, legal representation, publication commitment, payment obligation or a guarantee of anonymity. Confidentiality and attribution terms are agreed expressly. GenzWorld nevertheless handles apparently sensitive material carefully while determining whether a protected source relationship can be established.
Information to Provide
Where safe, a source explains what happened, when and where it happened, who was involved, the source’s role, how knowledge was obtained and what evidence exists. The source should also explain whether records are original, whether anyone else can corroborate, whether the matter was reported internally, whether proceedings exist, whether the source has a dispute with the subject, what harm may continue, what risk disclosure creates and why the matter is in the public interest. Direct knowledge is distinguished from information heard from others.
Identity Verification
GenzWorld may need to verify the source’s identity privately even where identity will not be published. Verification may involve professional role, employment history, institutional access, direct communication, contemporaneous records, limited identity documentation, knowledge unavailable publicly, corroborating sources or other proportionate methods. The publication does not collect more identity information than necessary, and documents should not be sent until requested through an appropriate method.
Anonymous and Confidential Treatment
Anonymity may be considered where naming the source creates a credible risk of dismissal, retaliation, legal persecution, discrimination, professional harm, physical danger, harassment, family danger, financial punishment or another serious consequence. The responsible editor normally knows the source’s real identity, basis of knowledge and motivation. The article describes the source as specifically as safety allows. Anonymity is not granted merely to permit unsupported allegations or personal attack.
Limits of Protection
GenzWorld uses proportionate security measures but cannot guarantee absolute confidentiality. Risk may arise from device compromise, workplace monitoring, email metadata, cloud providers, malware, shared accounts, backups, legal orders, border searches, physical seizure, communication patterns, document metadata, human error, third-party disclosure and information already known to others. Sources facing serious consequences are encouraged to obtain independent legal and security advice. GenzWorld is not the source’s lawyer, union representative, employer adviser or personal security provider.
Secure Communication
The appropriate method depends on risk. Safeguards may include encrypted messaging, encrypted email where available, secure file transfer, separate devices or accounts, avoidance of workplace systems, strong authentication, metadata removal, controlled document access, identity separation and secure storage. GenzWorld does not describe any method as completely secure, and a source is not encouraged to use a technical method the source cannot operate safely.
Documents and Evidence
Documents are assessed for authenticity, source, date, version, completeness, signatures, metadata, editing, missing context, internal consistency, legal restriction, privacy, security and source motivation. A confidential document does not automatically prove the truth of every statement it contains. Draft documents are not presented as final policy, and screenshots may be manipulated or incomplete.
GenzWorld does not instruct sources to commit unlawful or disproportionate acts to obtain information. A source should not hack systems, plant malware, steal unrelated personal data, expose private keys, collect intimate material, enter restricted premises unlawfully, impersonate another person, manipulate records, provoke misconduct, endanger others or take more information than necessary. The publication may decline material where acquisition created unacceptable legal, ethical or safety concerns.
Verification
Whistleblower information is treated as a lead rather than automatically as verified fact. Verification may include documents, independent witnesses, public records, technical examination, financial analysis, direct observation, subject response, regulatory records, data, contemporaneous communication and expert review. The source may be truthful but mistaken, may possess direct knowledge of one event but not the broader system, or may interpret evidence differently from what it establishes.
Source Motivation
GenzWorld considers whether the source is motivated by public-interest concern, personal grievance, employment dispute, political interest, financial interest, legal strategy, competition, ideology, expectation of payment, revenge or mixed motives. A mixed or self-interested motive does not automatically make evidence false, but it affects corroboration and disclosure.
Payment
GenzWorld does not ordinarily pay for source information. Payment may create incentives to exaggerate, fabricate or withhold evidence. Reasonable expenses may be considered exceptionally when necessary, approved in advance and not tied to the substance or dramatic value of the account. No payment is promised merely because information appears important.
Editorial Control
A whistleblower or confidential source does not control the final article, headline, publication date, source selection, inclusion of contrary evidence, legal review, classification, conclusion, correction or future reporting. The source may raise factual and safety concerns, but GenzWorld retains responsibility to evaluate and publish independently.
Limited source review may be allowed for quotation accuracy, chronology, technical explanation, source description, identifying detail and safety risk. Full-draft approval is not normally offered, and a source may not require removal of relevant evidence merely because it is unfavorable.
Public-Interest and Harm Assessment
Before publication, GenzWorld assesses seriousness of conduct, reliability of evidence, current or future harm, power of the subject, public consequences, source risk, privacy of uninvolved people, legal status, available alternatives, necessity of identification, proportionality and whether publication can be defended. Public curiosity, sensational value and commercial traffic are not sufficient.
Protection of Uninvolved People
Leaked files may contain information about people unrelated to the wrongdoing. GenzWorld avoids publishing private addresses, account numbers, identity numbers, health information, children’s information, private communications, family details, personal photographs, location data, passwords, private keys, unrelated financial information and other unnecessary personal data. Redaction is tested to ensure hidden information cannot easily be recovered.
Immediate Danger
Where information indicates immediate danger to life, physical safety or critical systems, GenzWorld may consider urgent action beyond ordinary publication. This may include contacting a competent authority, advising the source to obtain emergency assistance, delaying publication, limiting technical detail, coordinating responsible disclosure, preserving evidence, seeking legal advice or protecting affected people. Any action considers source safety, law, urgency and risk of making the situation worse. GenzWorld is not an emergency service and cannot guarantee emergency response.
Security Vulnerabilities
Good-faith reports of vulnerabilities affecting GenzWorld should be sent to security@genzworld.org. Vulnerabilities in another organization may require coordinated disclosure before publication. A source should not continue exploitation after obtaining sufficient evidence, and GenzWorld avoids publishing technical detail that materially enables harm before remediation where the public-interest benefit does not justify the risk.
Retaliation
Retaliation against a source may itself be newsworthy. GenzWorld may examine dismissal, threat, lawsuit, demotion, surveillance, harassment, blacklisting, disciplinary action, immigration consequence, financial punishment or family pressure. The publication does not promise that reporting will prevent retaliation, and any coverage remains subject to verification, fairness and public interest.
Withdrawal and Source Deception
A source may seek to withdraw before publication. GenzWorld considers the original agreement, new safety risk, evidence already independently obtained, public interest, legal obligations, publication status, source deception, whether reporting can proceed without exposure and effect on article reliability. Withdrawal does not automatically erase independently verified facts, but a credible new risk may justify delay, modification or cancellation.
If a source materially deceives GenzWorld, the publication assesses false identity, fabricated evidence, hidden financial interest, manipulated documents, incomplete records, false chronology, personal revenge, coordinated campaigns and effect on other sources. The relationship may end and published work may require correction or retraction. Confidentiality is not withdrawn casually as punishment.
Records and Publication Disclosure
Source records are retained only as long as necessary for verification, accountability, legal defense, source protection, correction, investigation, safety and evidence integrity. Access is limited, and identity is not stored unnecessarily in public content-management systems, shared commercial folders or article metadata.
Where protected sourcing materially supports an article, GenzWorld explains, as safely as possible, the source category, basis of knowledge, reason for anonymity, corroboration, documents reviewed, limitations and whether the subject responded. The explanation does not expose the source through a combination of details.
No Guarantee of Publication
Supplying information does not guarantee publication. GenzWorld may decline because of insufficient verification, lack of public interest, excessive risk, unclear rights, unlawful acquisition, source deception, limited capacity, inability to protect people, legal restriction or incomplete evidence. The publication may continue investigating without immediate publication.
Contact
Initial source contact may be made through editorial@genzworld.org. A source who believes GenzWorld breached an agreed confidentiality condition may contact complaints@genzworld.org and should avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information through ordinary email.
